About The Artist

Prabita Rajesh, is an artist who is originally from India and has lived all her life in the UAE. She currently juggles a busy schedule pursuing her passion for Art alongside a full time job as an Architect and being mother of two.

Her works are largely influenced by artists who painted and reflected realism like the celebrated Dutch artist Rembrandt and renowned Indian artists like Raja Ravi Varma. Prabita’s works are mostly a combination of soft blends with minimal flicks of the palette knife by which she brings about the depth in her creations. She has been experimenting with mixed media, fluid art, sand art and various contemporary art forms as well. Her favorite subjects are “nature” and the “everyday people” around her; their expressions; the life in their eyes and the stories in their wrinkles, all gives her great pleasure as she tries to capture them in her paintings.

Another kind of art that is close to her heart are fresh Flower Carpets and has won several competitions and events and even has a recognition from the Guinness World records for successfully being part of the team to complete the event, Flowers of Tolerance - the World’s Largest Flower Carpet.

With the zeal to share her love and knowledge of colours, she actively contributes in many community causes and projects and has organized several large scale events for children and adults including Art Workshops and competitions. She has been on the judging panel of several local art competitions and worked on magazine illustrations. Her work has also been featured in the World Medical Journal, as part of a paper on Robotics Surgery.  

She has displayed and successfully sold her works at the World Art Dubai, the Art Hub Gallery Dubai, National Pride Exhibition and others. In addition to commissioned works, she has collaborated with galleries and participated in group exhibitions and art fairs. She has also participated in art auctions where her art raised considerable amounts as funds for Al Jalila Foundation.
